The hissing cockroaches aren't my sister's only pets. They also have two guinea pigs named Wiggle and Jiggle. They were hidden away in the master bathroom for our visit because we didn't think it would be a good idea for Duchess to get too friendly with them.

Duchess, however, sniffed them out after a while and she was quite interested - and upset - that we wouldn't let her play with the puppies upstairs. She was quite calm and friendly with them. They didn't squeal or run away, so I don't think she really registered them as prey. But we didn't encourage the relationship too much. I was just pleased to see they could be friends - at least in the short term.

They both sniffed at each other, touched noses, and everyone got out alive.
